He succeeds Stuart Chambers, who was appointed Group Chief Executive of Pilkington in May. Oscar, 53, was previously chief executive of the company’s Building Products division in South America, and was also country manager in Brazil, where he was based for many years. He has recently completed his move, along with his family, to the UK and will be based in St Helens, Merseyside. “This is a great challenge, and while I certainly have my own management
approach and style, and I am also always open to new ideas, cost consciousness
will remain our core focus as we continue to work to maximise output,
develop high quality products and improve still further our customer service,”
